Canada’s Tallest Office Building Is Being Constructed In Downtown Toronto

Toronto's skyline is quickly gaining a new highlight with the addition of a striking 50-story planned CIBC Office Tower. Located just across from Union Station, the 50-story office tower at 141 Bay Street is set to become Canada's tallest office building. Following the successful completion of the 49-story building at 81 Bay Street in 2022, this project continues to showcase the modern and sleek design by U.K.-based WilkinsonEyre and Toronto's Adamson Associates.

Unique for its steel frame structure in a city known for concrete buildings and used as a method that stands out in the surrounding community, this strategy has allowed the tower's construction to progress very quickly. The building also includes urban development features like an expanded elevated park over the rail corridor and a new pedestrian bridge connecting the tower directly with Union Station.

The construction of the tower has already added to the city’s physical landscape, marking a significant change in Toronto’s financial district. The completion of 141 Bay Street will be a new landmark to add to the city’s collection.
